Hasan K. Rezakhani
From a young age, I have been captivated by the futuristic concepts presented in science fiction movies and TV shows. My fascination with the possibilities of advanced technology was sparked by films like “The Matrix” trilogy, which I have watched over 30 times and extensively studied. The film’s portrayal of a fully immersive virtual reality environment led me to ponder the question: what if we could create a Matrix-level immersion in virtual reality? I want to stay in Wonderland, and I learn how deep the rabbit hole goes.
Over the past 20 years, I have dedicated myself to the field of computer graphics and content creation, with a particular focus on 3D computer graphics and digital images. My journey has included 15 years of teaching computer graphics and photography, allowing me to share my knowledge and passion with students while continuously expanding my own understanding.
My expertise extends to programming in C#, which I have utilized in various projects to enhance the realism and interactivity of virtual environments. My strong passion for problem-solving, mathematics, and learning new technologies drives my continuous pursuit of knowledge and innovation in this ever-evolving field.
Currently, I am a lecturer at the University of Applied Science and Technology, where I teach courses on animation, digital illustration, and photography. My professional experience as a VR artist has further deepened my commitment to exploring the potential of immersive design.
I believe that virtual reality and immersive design will profoundly impact our behavior and interactions, revolutionizing the way we design and communicate. Virtual reality environments, though temporary, should replicate the physical characteristics of our world to create suitable and engaging experiences for users. My PhD research proposal focuses on exploring how realistic features of the real world can enhance the quality of virtual reality experiences, aiming to categorize these features based on their influence level.
In February 2015, I completed my master’s degree in photography at the University of Tehran. My thesis, titled “Studying the Role of 3D Computer Simulation in Generating Photorealistic Images,” reflected my interest in interdisciplinary research. I aimed to bridge the gap between 3D computer graphics and the realm of photography, demonstrating how these two fields can complement each other to produce stunningly realistic images.
As I continue my academic and professional journey, my research interests lie in analyzing virtual and simulated environments both theoretically and experimentally. I am particularly focused on exploring photorealistic virtual reality images to understand their impact on our perception of reality. My goal is to contribute to the development of immersive virtual environments that not only entertain but also enhance our understanding of the world around us.
